1st Rehearsal 

In the first rehearsal I had a chat with Will about what music to play and we came up with Superstition by stevie wonder and the I also looked at trumpet solos.

What went well
In the rehearsal Ben and Will were practising their music for the first performance whereas I was looking for trumpet pieces.

Monday 10th  October 2016 2nd Rehearsal

Today I was looking at pieces to play as well as the Star Wars theme for the performance. I was looking for a backing track for the theme but as YouTube didn't work on the school iPads  I looked on  for music. 

Wednesday 12th  October 2016 3rd Rehearsal

Today I was on YouTube and I found a star wars theme tune backing track and I downloaded it. This was at Knightsfield not MWS. I converted it to mp3 and I also converted the backing track of the final countdown. I also practised my trumpet at school to get better with the backing track.

Next time will practise more at home when I play the Star Wars theme and my Grade 5 piece.

Monday 31st October 2016 1st Rehearsal

Today I was on my phone watching the final countdown on YouTube. Also I was looking for the trumpet part for the final countdown. At home I played my grade 5 pieces and my lips were tired after playing the high notes.

At home when I had my music lesson my teacher he said that my scales and lip flexibility were great.
When I played the three grade 5 pieces he said that they could be improved because my lip was going and I couldn't hold the high note or play the notes for the last piece because my lips weren't strong enough.

Today I was researching for the final countdown music and I screenshotted it on phone.

Monday 7th November 2016 3rd Rehearsal

Today I was listening to the Final Countdown and Star Wars backing track on YouTube at Knightsfield.

Monday 14th November 2016 4th Rehearsal

Today I was practising the final countdown in one of the practice rooms and it sounded good but the high notes weren't really coming out.

Wednesday 16th November 2016 5th Rehearsal

Today I was playing the final countdown and it was better than Mondays practice and the high notes were easier to get to.

Monday 21st November 2016 6th Rehearsal

Today I was playing the final countdown and I got the main tune right with the correct notes. The tune is getting stronger and sounding better.

Monday 28th November 2016 7th rehearsal

Today I did my grade 5 and I did well. I messed up on one of my scales and the pieces went well. The aural didn't go well. After lunch I played in school some of my grade pieces along with the final countdown.

Wednesday 30th November 2016 8th Rehearsal

I played the final countdown and it was sounding way better than last lesson because I have be practicing it at home.

Monday 5th December 2016 9th rehearsal

Got my result for the exam. (69/100  69%)  I played the final countdown and it sounded very good and accurate.

Monday 12th December 2016 10th Rehearsal

Today we had a lesson in a classroom where we researched musical genres and other things to do with that genre.(Artist, Albums, Songs(etc)).

Wednesday 13th December 2016 11th Rehearsal

Today I played the final countdown and was looking for my third piece for the performance after x-mas holidays.

Monday 9th January 2017 12th Rehearsal

Today we had a cover teacher and I got on with the playing but my throat was sore and that prevented me from playing the high notes. I am playing a grade 5 piece as well as Star Wars and Final Countdown.

Monday 16th January 2017 13th Rehearsal

Forgot to bring my cornet to school and went to knightsfield to listen to backing tracks for Star wars theme tune and Final countdown.

Wednesday 18th January 2017 14th Rehearsal

Today I played my cornet but the values got sticky and I didn't have any value oil with me so I went back to Knightsfield and did the same as Monday.

Monday 23rd January 2017 15th Rehearsal

Today I brought my trumpet in and played for half an hour and when Sir wanted to listen to me, my lips were gone already.

Today I played for the whole lesson and practised for my lesson on Wednesday.

I played Star Wars and the Final Countdown as well as practicing The Orient. The Orient was a piece by Allen Vizzuti and was quite challenging. These three piece have reasonable high notes such as top E and Fs.

Wednesday 8th March 2017 21st Rehearsal

I played Star Wars and the Final Countdown as well as practicing The Orient. The Orient was a piece by Allen Vizzuti and was quite challenging. These piece have reasonable high notes such as top E and Fs. Also I played Miley Cyrus's Wreaking Ball.

Monday 13th March 2017 22nd Rehearsal

How I prepared for today's rehearsal:

To prepare for today's rehearsal session I made sure that I have all of the pieces with me and that I do a warm up at the beginning.

What I set out to achieve today:

Today I wanted to be able to play all of the pieces one after the other with a 1min break between each piece. Also I wanted to play with emotions to have different parts loud and some quiet.

How successful was today:

Today was quite successful because I Managed to play all of the pieces but at the end when I was playing The Orient the top notes began to go and my lips also got very dry. 

Targets for next rehearsal:

• Target 1 to practice more to strengthen my lips up
• Target 2 to put more effort through the trumpet to get a nice and smooth sound
• Target 3 to time myself when playing all three pieces

Achieving these targets is importance to the overall progress of  my goals because it would help me to build up my strengths and and to work harder than ever to get the best sound quality.

Monday 27th March 2017 23rd Rehearsal

How I prepared for today's rehearsal:

To prepare for today's rehearsal session I made sure that I have all of the pieces with me and that I do a warm up at the beginning. Also I changed the way I practice by going through each section on the piece and kept going through the same part until I get I correct and play it correct for 20 times. I have changed The Orient to Space

What I set out to achieve today:

Today I wanted to be able to play all of the pieces one after the other with a 1min break between each piece. Also I wanted to play with emotions to have different parts loud and some quiet.

How successful was today:

Today was quite successful because I Managed to play all of the pieces but at the end when I was playing Space and by having the triples it made it harder to get the tune right but the book came with a backing track that I could play along to. 

Targets for next rehearsal:

• Target 1 to practice more to strengthen my lips up.
• Target 2 to put more effort through the trumpet to get a nice and smooth sound.
• Target 3 to time myself when playing all three pieces.

Achieving these targets is importance to the overall progress of  my goals because it would help me to build up my strengths and and to work harder than ever to get the best sound quality.

Over half term

On Easter Sunday I played Thine Be The Glory in the church band and my trumpet teacher said that it was 9 1/2 out of 10.  I also played Space, Star Wars, Final Countdown and Wrecking Ball. I played a few of my old grade piece like America from West Side Story.

To prepare for today's rehearsal session I made sure that I have all of the pieces with me and that I do a warm up at the beginning. I play some sight reading to help me to tell what notes sound like and to get the rhythm correct.

What I set out to achieve today:

Today I was able to play all of the pieces one after the other with a 1min break between each piece.

How successful was today:

Today was quite successful because I Managed to play all of the pieces but at the end when I was playing Space and by having the triples it made it harder to get the tune right but the book came with a backing track that I could play along to.

How successful was today:

Today was quite successful because I managed to play all of the pieces and it helped me to strengthen my lips up and the sound was great.

Targets for next rehearsal:

• Target 1 to practice more to strengthen the build of the lips.
• Target 2 to blow through the trumpet to get a big round sound.
• Target 3 to time myself when playing all three pieces.

How I prepared for today's rehearsal:

To prepare for today's rehearsal session I made sure that I have all of the pieces with me and that I do a warm up at the beginning. I play some sight reading to help me to tell what notes sound like and to get the rhythm correct.

Today I was able to play all of the pieces one after the other with a 50 second break between each piece.

How successful was today:

Today was quite successful because I managed to play all of the pieces and it helped me to strengthen my lips up and the sound was great.

Targets for next rehearsal:

• Target 1 to practice more to strengthen the build of the lips.
• Target 2 to blow through the trumpet to get a big round sound.
• Target 3 to time myself when playing all three pieces.

What I set out to achieve today:

Today I was able to play all of the pieces one after the other with a 1min and 30 second break between each piece.

How successful was today:

Today was quite successful because I managed to play all of the pieces and it helped me to strengthen my lips up and the sound was great.

Targets for next rehearsal:

• Target 1 to practice more to strengthen the build of the lips.
• Target 2 to blow through the trumpet to get a big round sound.
• Target 3 to time myself when playing all three pieces.

Achieving these targets is important to the overall progress of  my goals because it would help me to build up my strengths and to work harder than ever to get the best sound quality.
